These eight films captured on 28 February 2022 during the Pioneers project, showcase 140 young performers from across Derby performing a programme of newly written music, that explores people who have been pioneers, the impact of their pioneering spirit and encourages the young people to look forward and consider what they might pioneer in their future.

Flight was inspired by a body percussion piece by Rachel Leach . Creative input from Raph Clarkson, Chris Williams, Becket Primary School, Firs Primary School, The Bemrose School & Derby College.

Pioneers of the Air was written by Raph Clarkson and Hazel Gould. Vocals from Ash Croft Primary Academy, Becket Primary School, Firs Primary School, The Bemrose School & Derby College accompanied by Sinfonia Viva.

The Wright Brothers was written and performed by Becket Primary School with support from Raph Clarkson, Chris Williams and the project team. Orchestrated by Raph Clarkson, accompanied by Sinfonia Viva.
