Family Show – Trains, Planes and Automobiles

Derby has played a key role in making trains, planes and automobiles – and now, we’re bringing that spirit of innovation to life through music! Join us at the Museum of Making for a unique, interactive concert that blends sound, storytelling, and hands-on fun for little ones and their families.

Go on a fantastical musical journey inspired by Derby’s heritage and artefacts at the museum, helping presenter, Claire Henry, fix her vehicle along the way.

Our musicians will perform music from different genres including classical, blues and boogie woogie. Your children will also get the chance to play along with the musicians using junk percussion.

With plenty of chances for children to take part, this engaging experience will spark creativity while drawing on Derby’s rich heritage of making and engineering.

Recommended for children aged 5 and under, this is a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy quality time together, making music, memories, and learning a little bit along the way.
