Sinfonia Viva and Derby Cathedral present a family concert:
Prokofiev | Peter and the Wolf
Helen Harrison | conductor
Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason | Narrator
Sarah Gatford | BSL interpreter
Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf? Not us! Bring your family along for an unforgettable adventure with Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. This magical symphonic tale is the perfect introduction to orchestral music, where every instrument brings a character to life—the bassoon as the stern grandfather, the playful oboe quacking as the duck, the mellow clarinet as the cat, and the lively flute as the bird.
Before the concert, join artist Abbie Canning for animal-themed craft activities and a treasure hunt around the Cathedral, and afterwards meet the musicians and their instruments. It’s a fun experience that the whole family will enjoy.
Recommend for children aged 6 to 11. British Sign Language interpreted.
