Leap Year is a vibrant, theatrical music show for 7–11 year olds (and their grown-ups), featuring three brilliant musicians from Sinfonia Viva. Across twelve playful chapters – one for each month of the year – the performers bring classical music to life through games, sketches, and audience interaction.
From the icy sparkle of January to the sunny buzz of July, every month has its own character and beautiful music to match. This show is full of surprise, silliness, and sensational music. Whether they’re introducing their instruments, acting out mini-scenes, or inviting the audience to join in, Sinfonia Viva will have children laughing, listening, and leaning in from start to finish. Come for the tunes, stay for the fun and discover how music can bring the whole year to life.
In partnership with MishMash Productions, this delightful concert is filled with curiosity, wonder, and joy. With playful performances on violin, clarinet, and bassoon, it’s a perfect introduction to the magic intimacy of chamber music!
This performance is approximately 45 minutes with no interval. Part of the Nottingham Chamber Music Festival 2025.
