Sarah Pennington – Section Principal Horn

Living and studying in London, Sarah performs regularly with orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Academy of St Martin in the Fields and the English National Ballet, as well as appearing as Guest Principal Horn of the Royal Northern Sinfonia.

Sarah also enjoys playing in chamber ensembles, such as in the Philharmonia Orchestra’s chamber series and the Encuentro de Música y Academia chamber festival in Santander.

Having previously learnt with Sue Dent at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, Sarah is now an undergraduate student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. During her studies, Sarah became the youngest winner of Guildhall’s Armourers and Brasiers’ Brass Prize, and has performed as a soloist with the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra in Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings at the Barbican. She was also joint principal horn of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
